Toulouse, known locally as La Ville Rose (The Pink City) owing to its many red-brick buildings, is a small but perfectly formed city that is now the centre of the French aeronautics and space-flight industry. Most of the important monuments and attractions in Toulouse are within easy walking distance of one another. Visitors are advised to sample some of the regional specialities; duck breast, Cassoulet, Saucisses de Toulouse and a glass of Pastis are very good places to start!
