Edinburgh is famous as a city of culture and beauty; mediaeval architecture and granite façades dominate the city, with hundreds of bars, museums, theatres, shops and historical landmarks to be found throughout the city, be they displayed with gusto on wide thoroughfares or hidden in winding streets.
