The house is a separate building next to the abbey and comprises the caretaker’s quarters on the lower floor, and the monastery complex itself, now owned by Italy’s Ministry of Culture. Guido the caretaker, will be delighted to provide you with a private tour of the Badia, with its medieval frescos, monks’ catacombs and chapel. What makes “Il Convento” truly special and unique is that it is built within a large, natural cave. This acts as a natural shelter to the house and its open areas and terraces; from where awe-inspiring views of the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi and Ravello can be enjoyed. Recently restored, “Il Convento” is tastefully furnished in typical coastal style. All rooms are equipped with both heating and air conditioning.
