This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! There will be no comparable accommodation to be found for a stay in Amsterdam. The house containing this apartment has been build in 1751 as a so called “shelter church” for Roman Catholic people, who were persecuted at that time. For that reason the apartment is discretely located in a small and quiet alley. The house looks like a regular home at the outside, but it held a small chapel at the inside, hidden from persecutors. The house will be completely at your disposal. The bedroom/living room is located in what used to be the chapel. You will sleep “on the altar” in a luxury box spring bed. In this room you will find a large flat screen TV/home cinema set/ DVD, wireless internet and a surprising light facility, everything (even the curtains) is remote controlled. The bathroom is comfortable and built to the highest standards. It is located on the second floor; regrettably it was not possible to make it accessible for disabled people. Bed linen and towels included. The kitchen comes with all the modern conveniences you might expect: Nespresso coffee machine / microwave / dishwasher/quooker (providing boiling water instantly). Behind the building is a small but nice garden terrace. Please note: although this apartment is located in one of the most vibrant night-life centres of Amsterdam, there will be no disturbance of sound from the surrounding area anyway, not even on the weekends.
Area Description
It is supremely located behind the Rembrandt Square (the centre of Amsterdam), within easy walking distance from Central Station, Dam Square, the Red Light district, and the Canal Area. All the major places of interest are nearby. Straight from the apartment you can stroll to the finest restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
